All lasers are not equal, just like all cars are not the same. This class will educate you on the different types of lasers, what distinguishes each, and which ones have an indication to be used in the management of periodontal disease. We will have a unique event on the emerging science of Lasers in Perio. In this format, two speakers coming from differing backgrounds will discuss different areas of the science, evidence, and clinical management of periodontics with the use of lasers.

Course Objectives:

• Learn how lasers can be of use in everyday clinical practice
• Practitioners can discover if and how lasers can be used in hygiene for the clinical benefit of the patient

Jonathan Szymanowski, DMD, MMSc:

Dr. Szymanowski is a diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. He received his dental degree and postdoctoral degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He maintains a private practice in periodontics in Sacramento, California..

Pinelopi Xenoudi, DDS, MS:

Dr. Xenoudi received her dental degree from the University of Athens Dental School, followed by completing a dual certificate/degree program in Periodontics and Master in Oral Biology at Louisiana State University. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Xenoudi is currently the Associate Dean of Admissions, Student Affairs and DEI at California Northstate University.
